How to Plan a Virtual Event for Your Team

A positive company culture is essential for any business, but it can be especially challenging to maintain with remote workers. At Award Masters, we believe that every business should make an effort to promote a culture of appreciation, regardless of whether employees are working in-office or remotely. Here are some tips on how to plan a successful virtual event that will make your remote workers feel appreciated and valued.

  1. - Plan Ahead

The key to any successful event is planning ahead. This is especially true for virtual events, as there are a lot of moving parts that need to come together seamlessly for the event to run smoothly. Give yourself plenty of time to plan and promote the event so that everyone has a chance to participate.

  1. - Send Physical Awards

There's nothing quite like receiving a physical award to make someone feel appreciated. If you're planning a virtual recognition event, consider sending awards to employees in advance so they can have them on hand when their name is called. At Award Masters, we offer a wide variety of trophies and customizable corporate awards that are perfect for any occasion. Plus, we can customize any award with your company logo or message.

  1. - Get Creative

Just because your event is taking place virtually doesn't mean it has to be boring. Get creative with the format and structure of the event to keep employees engaged. You could host a virtual happy hour, host a game night, or even have employees submit videos of themselves sharing what they're grateful for at work. The sky's the limit!

Virtual employee recognition events are a great way to show your remote workers that you appreciate them just as much as your in-office employees. By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to planning a successful event that everyone will enjoy. And don't forget to stop by Award Masters for all your trophy and awards needs! We're here to help you make your next event a success.

The Five Most Common Types of Engraving

When it comes to engraving, there are a few different methods that can be used to create many different desired looks. At Award Masters Inc, we specialize in creating customized corporate awards, and we have a lot of experience with engraving. In this blog post, we'll be discussing the five most common types of engraving: abrasive etching, laser engraving, UV printing, full color, and sublimation.

Abrasive Etching

Abrasive etching is a type of engraving that uses a rotating cylinder covered in sandpaper to remove the top layer of material from the object being engraved. This type of engraving is typically used on softer materials like plastic and glass.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is a type of engraving that uses a laser beam to remove material from the object being engraved. This type of engraving can be used on a wide variety of materials, including wood, metal, glass, and plastic.

UV Printing

UV printing is a type of printing that uses ultraviolet light to cure (dry) ink that has been applied to the surface of an object. This type of printing is typically used on materials like glass and metal.

Full-Color Printing

Full-color printing is a type of printing that uses four colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) to create a full-color image. This type of printing can be used on a wide variety of materials, including metal plates, which are commonly used to produce trophies.

Sublimation Printing

Sublimation printing is a type of printing that uses heat to transfer dye onto an object. This type of printing is typically used on materials like plastic and fabric.

There you have it! These are the five most common types of engraving. From personalized awards to customized gift ideas, Award Masters Inc can help you choose the right method for your needs. Contact us today to get started!

Creating a Sports Awards Program

Consider the most recent sports film you watched. You'll undoubtedly remember instances when the coach took time out to praise one of their players or the entire team. As a result, the athletes kept pushing ahead and meeting their goals. Award Masters, a provider of ceremonial awards in Pensacola, FL, understands that recognizing your athletes for their accomplishments is crucial because no good coach fails to recognize his or her players for their achievements.

When it comes to creating a sports recognition program, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you'll want to make sure the program is effective and meaningful for everyone involved. Second, you'll need to decide what sort of acknowledgment you'll be providing (e.g., honors, scholarships, etc.), as well as some criteria for who should be included in it.

Here are some helpful suggestions to get you started:

  • Determine what you'd like to accomplish. What is the importance of your recognition program? What are you attempting to achieve? These inquiries may assist you in determining what form of praise you should offer, as well as how to go about doing it.
  • Involve key participants. The success of your program depends on gaining the support of key stakeholders (such as administrators, coaches, and athletes). Make sure to include their suggestions regarding what kind of accolades would be most meaningful and effective.
  • Decide on the form of recognition you'll offer. Will you give out glass medals or stick to traditional trophies? Scholarships? Are there any other options? There are several choices available, so select what's appropriate for your program carefully.
  • Create rules for who is qualified to receive accolades. This will ensure that only those who truly earned it are receiving the honors.
  • Increase the number of people who know about your program. Make sure everyone knows about your recognition initiative and how to participate.

If you follow these suggestions, you'll be well on your way to establishing a successful sports recognition program. If you need unique sports medals or are interested in bulk trophy orders, contact Award Masters Inc. today!

A Quick Look at the History of Awards

Nowadays, awards are a large industry. Awards and medals make a clear statement about success, whether they're presented to actors at black-tie events or raised over a champion's head after a sporting match. They say: this person, this event, this team is the best. Awards make such a clear statement that they’re given to people of all ages by all kinds of organizations... But when and where did the tradition of awards and trophies begin? From ancient times through the present, a provider of custom placement ribbons is here to take you on an exploration of the origins of awards.

Ancient Times:

Trophies have been around since ancient times, when they were frequently made in the form of beautiful statues, columns, and arches. In Rome, stone columns were quite popular. Greek troops frequently created trophies using the weapons and armor taken from vanquished foes following successful combat. These representations of warriors were meant to appear real. Whatever their shape, such trophies were typically dedicated to whichever gods were worshiped in an area.

Smaller trophies, however, were also used in the ancient world. In Greece's original Olympic Games, winners were adorned with twisted olive branches, which were considered a big status symbol at the time and were only given to the best athletes. After all, runners-up at the first games did not receive any prizes.

The Middle Ages:

You probably don't think of the Middle Ages as a time when people were rewarded with glittering medals, and we wouldn't either. However, it is this period in history that has given us one of the most recognized forms of trophies in the world — the chalice! Cup-shaped trophies (a.k.a. chalices) are still popular today and frequently used in sailing, horse racing, and automobile racing.

Early Modern Era to Modern Era:

The early modern era saw the industrialization of trophy-making. This allowed for items such as sterling silver cups, plates, and bowls to be mass-produced and given out as prizes. The trend of awarding trophies made from precious metals continued into the 19th century when companies began to create sterling silver and gold medals to hand out as awards.

Today, there are all kinds of awards and trophies, from the Stanley Cup to Little League Baseball trophies. So, whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind award for a corporate event or bulk trophies for a sports team, give Award Masters a call today! They have the experience and expertise to help you find just the right award for your event.
